The gap
Squarespace product forms can’t take a file
Squarespace lets you add a form to a product so customers answer questions before the item goes in the cart. Those forms have no file upload field, so there is nowhere to attach the photo for a portrait, the artwork for a print or the logo for an engraving.
The usual workarounds (“email us your file after checkout”, a separate upload form, a Dropbox link typed into a text box) lose files, stall orders and leave you matching attachments to orders by hand.

How it works
Three steps, about ten minutes
CartTuck rides on Squarespace’s own Add to Cart form, so your cart, checkout and order emails stay exactly as they are.

Step 1: Connect your store
Sign in with your Squarespace account, then paste one script tag into your site-wide Footer code injection. No theme edits, no developer.

Step 2: Add a “CartTuck file” field
Add a Text field labeled “CartTuck file” to the product’s Add to Cart form. On your live site, CartTuck swaps it for an uploader with drag and drop, browse, and phone camera.

Step 3: Get files on the order
When the order comes in, CartTuck matches each file to its order and line item. Download one file or a zip, or ask the customer for a better one.
Under the hood: when the upload finishes, CartTuck writes a short code such as
CT-7K2QXM into the hidden
field. Squarespace saves it with the order like any other form answer, and CartTuck reads it back through the Squarespace
Orders API to link the file.

Direct uploads up to 500 MB
Files go straight from the shopper’s browser to storage, in parts for large files, with a progress bar the whole way. Big print files don’t time out.

DPI and print-size checks Pro and up
Set a print size and minimum DPI per product. Shoppers see “Prints sharp at 18 × 24 in”, or a warning before they buy. You can block files that are too small.

Matched to the order
Each Add to Cart gets its own code, so two posters in one cart keep separate files. Order webhooks plus a 15-minute backstop check catch orders even when a webhook goes missing.

Post-checkout upload page Maker and up
Customer forgot the file, or bought on a phone? They enter their order number and email on your upload page, and the file attaches to that order.

Zip download
Download a single file, or every file on an order as one zip. Download links are short-lived and can only be created from your dashboard.

File too small or the wrong crop? Send the customer a link to upload a new one, with your note. Their new file lands on the same order.

Auto-delete retention
Files are deleted automatically 14 days to 1 year after the order, depending on plan. Uploads never attached to an order go after 7 days.

Only image and PDF types you allow get through, checked by their actual bytes, not just the name. Downloads always save to disk and never open in the browser.

Frequently asked questions
Which Squarespace plan do I need?
The uploader runs from a script in Code Injection, which Squarespace includes on the Core plan and higher. On the Basic plan there is no code injection, so the uploader can’t appear on your product pages; you can still collect files after checkout with CartTuck’s post-checkout upload page (Maker, Pro and Studio plans), or upgrade your Squarespace plan to Core.
CartTuck supports Squarespace 7.1 sites. Version 7.0 templates aren’t supported yet.
What file types can customers upload?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), TIFF, SVG and PDF. You choose which of these each product accepts. Every file is checked by its actual contents, not just its extension, and anything else is rejected, including executables, archives and HTML files.
The maximum size per file depends on your plan: Free up to 25 MB, Maker up to 100 MB, Pro and Studio up to 500 MB.
Where are files stored?
In Cloudflare R2 object storage, encrypted at rest, in a folder that belongs to your store only. Files are never public: to download one, your signed-in dashboard creates a link that expires after 5 minutes, served from a separate domain that always downloads the file rather than opening it in the browser.
Can customers upload after they’ve checked out?
Yes, on Maker, Pro and Studio plans. Your store gets an upload page at carttuck.com/u/your-store. The customer enters their order number and the email they ordered with; CartTuck confirms both with Squarespace and attaches the file to that order. Put the link in your order confirmation email or product description.
Will it work with my template?
CartTuck finds your field by its label rather than by template-specific code, waits for the Add to Cart form to open, and draws the uploader inside its own isolated container so your template’s styles can’t break it. If the uploader doesn’t appear, the troubleshooting steps cover the common causes.
What happens if I uninstall?
CartTuck stops accepting uploads and stops reading new orders straight away, and we email you to confirm. 30 days later we permanently delete your store’s files and data. Download anything you want to keep before you uninstall, and remove the script tag and the “CartTuck file” field from your site.
What about my customers’ privacy?
Shoppers don’t create an account. CartTuck stores the files they upload, the order details needed to match them (order number, email, line items), and a one-way hash of their IP address for abuse protection. Nothing is sold or used for advertising, and files are deleted on your plan’s schedule. You are the controller of your customers’ data and we process it for you; see our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.
Does CartTuck change my checkout?
No. Customers still add to cart and pay through Squarespace’s own checkout. CartTuck only fills in one form field with a short code, which Squarespace saves with the order like any other form answer. CartTuck asks Squarespace for read access to your orders and products; it never touches payments.
